Sporting drops 11-2 home match to Bellingham

WISL Logo - 600EVERETT, WA—Sporting Everett loses their second strait game at home to Bellingham United 11-2.

Eager to rebound from a tough one goal loss to the Olympic Force, Sporting, with a few key players missing took the floor against an always tough Bellingham United squad.

Bellingham scored early, and did not take their foot off the gas Pedal until the final whistle  sounded. United’s  Richard Henderson had 3 goals and Brendan Quilici, Kurtis Pederson, Uche Ugabwa, Behr Ibarra, Connor Moe, Mo Marenah, Chris Jepson and. Rene Caro all scored for United.

Sporting’s Corey Hendrickson scored their first goal early in the game and James Postma their second goal, late in the game as Sporting put Hendrickson in net as a 6th attacker.

“Not much to say tonight, the score line says enough,” said Hendrickson. “We have a lot to work on and we need to play as a team like Bellingham did instead of trying to be individuals.”

Once again, Sporting’s Penalty kill defense was a bright spot, effectively killing off several United power plays.

Sporting now shifts their attention and focus to their next opponents and in county rivals, the Snohomish Skyhawks. The Skyhawks are coming off of a 4-2 win over Oly Town this weekend and now sit at 1-1.

Kickoff against the Skyhawks is scheduled for 7:35 on December 19th at Everett Soccer Arena.
